Normalize Feeling Unmotivated

We all go through that stage where we need to step away from the internet and get some fresh air in our lungs.

Go easy on yourself

When you’re feeling unmotivated and uninspired, it can be challenging to find a place of peace and stillness within. The world around you may be moving at a breakneck pace, and you may feel like you’re just holding on for dear life. But the truth is that everyone feels this way sometimes.

I know from experience that it helps to remember that everyone else is going through the same thing. Even though it may not seem like it online, social media makes us feel like everybody’s business life is great and awesome all the time. As if no one goes through hard times or has ever felt unmotivated for long periods of time, or uninspired in their journey.

Don't let comparison steal your joy

Social media and comparison go hand in hand. If you're spending too much time on Facebook or Instagram comparing yourself to others, then it's likely that this is affecting your feelings of motivation and self-worth. When you spend most of your time comparing yourself to others, it's hard not to feel like a failure because there will always be someone brighter, happier, more accomplished, or better looking than you are — at least in your eyes.

Perhaps it's time for a break

Feeling unmotivated might also be a sign that you need to take a break from comparison and social media. If you're constantly comparing yourself to other people, it's easy to feel like you're not doing enough or you're not good enough. If this is the case, taking some time away from the Internet might help.
